Exchange Server - Update Your Address Book Entry Author: Simon Butler, Exchange MVP, MCSE
The email address book that is part of Outlook is stored on the Exchange server. As well as listing all staff name and email addresses, it also stores phone numbers and address details. In most cases it is kept up to date by the admin team.
However if you want to update your address book yourself, then Microsoft produce an
unsupported tool called "galmod.exe" (Global Address List Modifier). To use it, download the file from here.
- When connected to the network, double click on the executable. You will be asked to confirm the profile you want to use.

- Change the details as required. There are two screens, one for address details on one for phone number details.
Depending on whether your company is international or not, you may want to store the numbers in the international format.

- When complete, press OK and your changes will be sent to the Exchange Server. Depending on the server configuration, you should be able to see you changes in the main Outlook Address Book immediately.
